GWT not working on Internet explorer 7 (IE7) giving “Element not found” javascript error

GWT web application started to give “Element not found” javascript error message on Internet Explorer 7 (IE7)? This application worked fine on Internet Explorer 6and Firefox 2. Now your best guess would be; GWT not working on IE 7 properly. Wasn’t it?

But the scenario became confusing and unbelievable because your applicationworked fine on IE7 in some machines while not on some others. Have you faced this issue? Then the below solution is for you.

This issue can be fixed by a making a change on windows registry.

Steps to follow are;
1. Open up the Registry editor – type regedit on command prompt.

2. Look for the key shown below

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1\win32

3. Click on the “Default” row and see the value there. If it’s value is “C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocvw.dll”, then that is what causes the above mentioned issue. If you have installed Windows in a different drive; C:\ must be replaced with the that letter.

4. Replace that value with “C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieframe.dll”.

5. Now restart IE7, and load your GWT application.

This article provides steps for troubleshooting script errors encountered while using Yahoo! Messenger.

Resolution

Having the most recent Java application will ensure proper communication between Internet Explorer and the Messenger application. Please follow these steps to uninstall and reinstall your Java runtime environment.

Uninstall and Reinstall Java

1. On your keyboard, hold down the Windows key and press the R key. This opens the “Run” command.

2. Type in appwiz.cpl and click OK. This opens “Add or remove Programs”.

3. Select Java and then click the Uninstall button. There may be multiple installed versions, so be sure to remove all of them.

4. Next, download and install the latest version of Java Runtime Environment

5. To ensure the update is effective please Clear the Yahoo! Messenger Cache

6. Restart Messenger to determine if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists, try Resetting the Browser Configuration.

How To Invoke Script from a Siebel Button At the Business Component and Applet Levels

This article describes the steps required to configure Siebel to invoke Siebel eScript code from a button.

You can invoke siebel script from a button through business component server script, applet server script and applet browser script. The following is an explanation of how to do this. For these examples I will assume that you have configured the button and this is displayed on the desired applet. If you dont know how to configure a button using Siebel Tools refer to the Siebel Bookshelf – Configuration eBusiness Applications.

For all examples below you need to configure the button in Siebel Tools to call a custom method. In Siebel Tools Object Explorer, navigate to Applet > Control, for the applet you have configured the button on. In the Controls list applet update the Method Invoked field to have value: TestMethod.

TestMethod will be the custom method that is invoked when the button is clicked. You will execute code when this method is invoked.

Now to execute script when the button is clicked we need to add code to the PreInvokeMethod event script of the Business Component/Applet and execute the code only if the Method Invoked = TestMethod. We need to ensure that we return CancelOperation if the custom TestMethod is invoked, because this is a custom method, if we return ContinueOperation then Siebel would error as the Siebel C++ internal code does not know what that method is. Below are the code examples. Note that for each of these examples, I am executing code to create and populate text into a text file called Test.log. This is acheived through code similar to the following:

3. The business component server script will then execute writing to file TestBC.log in the bin directory containing text “Executing Business Component Script!”.

So the order of script execution for siebel applets and business components are as such:

Applet Browser Script -> Applet Server Script -> Business Component Server Script

Notice that the applet browser script and applet server script no longer returns CancelOperation, it returns ContinueOperation, this allows the script to be executed in following event methods. Eg. If we returned CancelOperation on the Applet Server Script in the above example the Business Component script would not have executed.

LookupValue function in SIEBEL

LookupValue

Finds a row in S_LST_OF_VAL where the TYPE column matches the type argument, the CODE column matches the lang_ind_code argument, and the LANG_ID column matches the language code of the currently active language. This function is used to obtain the translation of the specified untranslated value in the specified LOV into the currently active language.

Syntax

What is Data Validation?

Data validation is a tool that helps you control the kind of information that is entered in your worksheet. With data validation, you can:

–provide users with a list of choices
–restrict entries to a specific type or size
–create custom settings

Note: Data validation is not foolproof. It can be circumvented by pasting data into the cell, or by choosing Edit|Clear|ClearAll

Data validation list

Provide a Drop-down List of Options

Use Data Validation to create a dropdown list of options in a cell. List items can be typed in a row or column on a worksheet, or typed directly into the Data Validation dialog box.

1. Create a List of Items

If the list of options is more than a couple of items, it will be easier to maintain if you type the list on a worksheet. The list can be entered on the sheet that will contain the dropdown lists, or on a different sheet. In this example, the list will be stored on a sheet named Lists.

In single row or column, type the entries you want to see in the drop-down list. (Note: The list must be in a single block of cells — e.g. you can use A2:A6, but not A2, A4, A6, A8.)

2. Name the List Range

If you type the items on a worksheet, and name the range, you can refer to the list from any worksheet in the same workbook.

Select the cells in the list.
Click in the Name box, to the left of the formula bar
Type a one-word name for the list, e.g. FruitList.
Press the Enter key.

Note: To create a named list that automatically expands to include new items, use a dynamic range.

3. Apply the Data Validation

Select the cells in which you want to apply data validation
From the Data menu, choose Validation.
From the Allow drop-down list, choose List

In the Source box, type an equal sign and the list name, for example: =FruitList
Click OK.

Tip: To select a range name, instead of typing it:

In the Data Validation dialog box, under Allow, select List
Click in the Source box, and on the keyboard, press the F3 key
From the Paste Name list, select a named range, and click OK.
Click OK, to close the Data Validation dialog box.

4. Using a Delimited List

Instead of referring to a list of items on the worksheet, you can type the list in the Source box, separated by commas. For example:

Note: This method of Data Validation is case sensitive — if a user types YES, an error alert will be displayed.

5. Allow Entries that are not in the List

To allow users to type items that are not in the list., turn off the Error Alert.

6. Protect the List

To protect the list from accidental damage, if you have entered it on a different worksheet, you can hide that sheet.

Choose Format | Sheet | Hide

Cause:	The address specified is not valid, or the program being connected to does not exist.
Action:	Ensure the ADDRESS parameters have been entered correctly; the most likely incorrect parameter is the node name. Ensure that the executable for the server exists (perhaps “oracle” is missing.) If the protocol is TCP/IP, edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file to change the host name to a numeric IP address and try again.

Letusan Gunung Tambora mengubah iklim dan menimbulkan bencana kelaparan terparah saat itu.

Letusan Gunung Merapi di perbatasan Jawa Tengah dan Yogyakarta pada Selasa lalu ternyata tidak seberapa bila dibandingkan dengan letusan gunung-gunung lain.

Sebuah laman yang mempublikasikan gunung-gunung berapi di dunia, famousvolcanoes.netmencatat letusan gunung terdahyat di dunia. Berikut gunung-gunungnya:

Vesuvius, Italia
Di antara gunung api dengan letusan terdahsyat diantaranya Vesevius di Napoli, Italia. Letusan pertamanya terjadi pada tahun 79 Masehi yang mengubur kota Pompeii dan Herculaneum dengan lava panas. Letusan yang terjadi lebih dari 20 jam itu menewaskan lebih dari 3 ribu orang.

Setelah itu, Vesuvius berkali-kali meletus. Salah satunya pada 1631 yang menewaskan 4 ribu orang. Sedangkan terakhir meletus pada 1944.

Tambora, Indonesia
Saat Gunung Tambora di Nusa Tenggara Barat meletus pada April 1815, suaranya terdengar hingga Sumatera. Abu vulkaniknya jatuh hingga Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Jawa, dan Maluku. Lebih dari 71 orang meninggal akibat letusan tersebut.

Panas yang menyembur melubangi atmosfer dan menyebabkan perubahan iklim sementara. Saat itu dikenal dengan tahun tanpa panas. Dua badai salju besar pada Juni terjadi di Kanada. Kondisi ini menyebabkan gagal panen di sejumlah benua dan memicu musibah kelaparan terburuk di awal abad ke 19.

Krakatau, Indonesia
Gunung yang berada di Selat Sunda Provinsi Lampung ini meletus pada 1883. Suaranya terdengar hingga puluhan ribu kilometer. Kedahsyatan ledakan diperkirakan mencapai ribuan kali bom atom yang diledakkan di Hirosima dan Nagasaki, Jepang.

Tak hanya awan panas, letusan ini juga mengakibatkan tsunami besar di Sumatera dan Jawa. Lebih dari 36 ribu orang meninggal saat itu.

St Helens
Gunung ini paling terkenal akan letusannya yang terjadi pada 18 Mei 1980. Letusan tersebut merupakan letusan gunung berapi terparah baik dari segi kekuatan letusan maupun kerugian ekonomi sepanjang sejarah Amerika Serikat.

57 orang tewas, dan puncak gunung berkurang dari 2.950 meter menjadi 2.550 m. Lokasi letusan kini menjadi kawasan Monumen Nasional Gunung Berapi Gunung St. Helens.

Mauna Loa
Adalah gunung berapi teraktif di dunia. Salah satu dari lima gunung ini membentuk Pulau Hawaii, Amerika Serikat, di Samudera Pasifik. Sejak 1843, Mauna Loa telah meletus 33 kali, terakhir pada tahun 1984.
